Out and About

Today we got up kinda earlyish so I could run errands. I hit up Goodwill, went to the bank, hit the Post Office, Lowe's, and the grocery store. I'm pretty sure Caiden isn't the only one in this house who needs a nap. We're trying out the whole napping in the crib thing this afternoon, so we'll see how that goes. I don't hear any crying yet.

At Goodwill I found three 100% wool sweaters. I'm so excited! I found several others but they weren't 100% so I didn't get them. Sad. I was hoping to find some girly colors. I found a blue, green, and brown. I'm going to make recycled woolies out of them. I'm going to have to make it a weekly thing to go woolie hunting. I also found a Coach purse for 15 bucks. So today was a good day :)

We went to Lowe's to buy the supplies needed to make a home made diaper sprayer. Now that Caiden is eating more solids his poo isn't quite as easy to get off the diapers and I can't just throw them in the wash. So I went and bought a bucket and plan to follow this tutorial later tonight. I found all the parts by myself so I was pretty proud of myself. You can save a little money if you make one yourself instead of buying a $40 BumGenius one.

Tonight for dinner I'm going to make enchiladas. I'm going to split the recipe between two pans again; cook one and freeze the other. I loooooove enchiladas. Love love love.

I'll be buying my new computer tomorrow... or officially tonight at midnight when we get paid :) So that's exciting. Also I'm thinking of buying the hang tags for my woolies soon. Once you're done with the tags you plant them in the ground and wildflowers grow! Isn't that so awesome?! They're a little pricey but I just have to have them to share with yall.

I found two ickie spiders I'm kind of freaked out about on our lanai. I sprayed them with Raid. I think they were brown widows. I don't do spiders. I then proceeded to spray every nook, cranny, and corner of the lanai so hopefully we won't see anymore. Ickie.

Oh and last night I bought my domain name. So BearBootyBoutique.com is officially official :)

Opening Soon!

So it really is Wednesday today. Not just for me, but for the rest of the world too. I'm going to put my nose to the sewing machine today and get to work. The last of my fabrics came in yesterday so I'm officially ready for launch. Now just to get the stock ready. I'm thinking an early October opening so I can get the Halloween dipes out. I ordered my business cards last night so those were fun to design.

Caiden got his first boo-boo last night :( He knocked his head on the edge of his timeout stool (we're planning ahead) and has a big scratch on his forehead now. My poor baby. He took it well though. Dad was proud. The photo above is pre boo-boo. Isn't he a cutie though? :)

And the big news is... I'm getting a new computer!!!! Yay! My mother harassed the rest of our family into donating to the "cause." So sometime next week I should receive the funds to buy a new laptop. I'm so ready. The only way this one runs now is if I run it in safe mode with networking. Boo.

Last night I ended up cooking creamy chicken linguine, lemon garlic asparagus, and fresh baked brownies with ice cream. It was delicious :) Since I went so overboard last night, I think tonight is going to be an easy night of Hamburger Helper or something. The idea of cooking another meal right now is kind of daunting. That could be because I haven't had my coffee yet too. Or the teething baby that is currently whining and yanking on my computer screen.

I'm off to spend some quality time with my coffee machine.

Happy halfway to Friday!

Is it really Tuesday???

All this morning I thought it was Wednesday. I'm officially losing it I think haha. Being a mother has officially turned my brain to mush.

I'm a busy, busy bee today. I commissioned a sewing job making a custom Mickey Mouse costume that I'm really excited about. So I have to run to JoAnn's today to get the supplies for that. I also need to lanolize my woolies today and figure out dinner. Today I actually have no idea about dinner. So while Caiden is sleeping I guess I'm off to allrecipes.com to figure out what I want to cook.

My OBF came in yesterday so that's exciting. Now just waiting on the Zorb and it got shipped on the 22nd so hopefully it'll be here soon.

We just got a cinnamon broom to put up in the kitchen and it smells soooo good! I love it!

Before I'm off to run around here's a quick pic of Caiden's costume so far.

Happy Monday!

Hello everyone! I'm excited about my new followers! I feel less lonesome now haha. Anyway I have been completely slacking on my blog and I apologize. As I mentioned before my computer has been in and out of being functional so it makes it hard to get on. My mother is taking donations to buy me a new one haha! Also I've been super busy working on my son's Halloween costume. He's going to be a lion :) Here's the start of it (you'll have to ignore the mess, Caiden has been a hurricane lately).

The tags for my diapers came in over the weekend so that's exciting. I just love them :) I'm still waiting on the fabric for my soakers before I can start selling them. I have been just sewing away on covers though. I have a bunch of fabric I need to work through before I can justify buying more. I've even started selling off our old diapers that we don't need anymore now.

My newest project is making wipe solution cubes and soap! I found out about this from a nice lady on my cloth diaper sewing forum. It's glycerin based pour and mold soap with shea butter that I'm going to add fragrance oils to and maybe some tea tree oil. If my experiment works out I'll probably end up selling these too! Supposedly with the cubes you can just drop one into some water, let it dissolve, and use it as a wipes solution for up to a month. You can put them into those foaming soap dispensers too and have some nice hand soap. So I'm pretty excited about all that. I just need to find a cute little bear mold for the soap :)

We had an awesome weekend. Saturday I sewed up an apron for a family friend's wedding we went to later that night. She had a beautiful beach wedding that was just gorgeous. There's nothing like going to a wedding to remind you what marriage really is about. Then Sunday we had a lazy day where the husband made breakfast for us all and we laid around and watched TV. I worked on Caiden's costume too.

Friday night I made the yummiest lasagna. It took a while to make so I made two and froze one for later. It was so yummy we've finished off the leftovers already and we DON'T eat leftovers haha. I had leftover sauce so I think I'm going to make chicken parmigiana tonight with the sauce. Besides that I was a bum and didn't cook much over the weekend.

Alas, since today is Monday it's chore day. I've got dishes and laundry calling my name as well as a teething grumpy baby.

Happy Monday everyone!

p.s. I love Regis and Kelly and Access Hollywood. I'm such a girl haha.

I finished three diapers today. Man I hate putting snaps on things. That by far takes me the longest. One of them is going to be listed as a Seconds because I messed up the wing some :( Still fully functional but less pretty. Darn it. I need a larger cutting mat so I'm taking a break until the hubby comes home with it. My pattern is just two inches too wide to be able to fully cut out on a 24"x18". I need to take a break anyway and play with Booger Man and think about dinner.

Tonight we're going to have baked potato soup from scratch and ham and Swiss crescent rolls. Should be yummy and not too hard. The hardest part about the soup is making the roux. I'm far too impatient for it.

I forgot to mention that my husband got me roses the other night. He is a sweetie when he wants to be ;)

Also I think I'm going to make Caiden's Halloween costume. I'm bummed out though because everyone says it's still way hot here in Florida on Halloween. Lame. All the cute costumes are thick and furry. So far I'm debating between a skunk and a lion. I'll just have to make the body suits out of a cotton knit or something instead of the faux fur. I'm excited to make it though!

I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of their day!

Tuuuuuesday

Today my computer decided to take an unannounced nap for most of the day. So that was awesome. It's decided to join the rest of us for now so let's see how long that lasts. My sweet darling husband switched up the hard drives on our other laptops and accidentally deleted my entire hard drive to my Dell. I love him anyway. I swear. I'm on the hunt for a new laptop or a way to fix my other two so I'll have something dependable. I want to share the cloth love!

I went to JoAnn's today and got MORE prints I don't need. Damn you, Coupon Commotion! But they're super cute and I'm excited to get them out to everyone! Yesterday I received my 700 snaps I had ordered, polymailers, and a couple prints of fabrics. OH and I approved my labels for print. So now I'm just waiting on my Zorb and OBF. Yay!

Dinner tonight was blue cheese stuffed pork chops, mashed taters, sauteed green beans. Yummy :) With a little tiramisu for desert.

In other news... MY LITTLE BOY TOOK HIS FIRST STEPS YESTERDAY!!! We're super excited if you can't tell :) he's 9 1/2 months old.

Anyways off to put the munchkin down and sew for a bit. I got 30 wipes done last night.

Have a wonderful night!

Someone's got a case of the Mondays

My computer took a turn for the worse over the weekend with various reboots and weird squiggly lines on the screen (which I'm told is a bad graphics card). But I let it rest for a few days and it seems to be back among the living now. So let's all cross our fingers. If this one kicks it, we'll have three laptops in our house that only serve the purpose of very expensive paper weights. Sigh.

I have lots of house chores I need to get done today. As I do every Monday, because I'm always a slacker over the weekend. But on my downtime I plan on sewing away! I got 28 wipes cut out yesterday so I just need to turn and top stitch them to some terry cloth. Also, I got SIX new prints for diapers at JoAnn's on Saturday so I need to start working on those too! Among those there are Thanksgiving/Fall prints and a few girly ones :)

I made Seafood Chowder for dinner last night so we're just going to have leftovers of that for tonight. It is delicious! And easy! A friend of mine calls it Pam Chowder haha. But seriously it's really good. I made stuffed mushrooms over the weekend too, which are always a favorite. I love them but they're just a bit more work to make.

My stuffed mushrooms also accompanied us to a friend's house this weekend where we had Sunday Funday. It included Drunken Spaghetti, bruschetta, and mimosas. Yum! I could go for another mimosa right now haha.

In another news, if you happened notice how BEAUTIFUL my blog looks, it's because of an amazing job done by Ashley at Lemon and Lavender (who's house we went to yesterday for Sunday Funday!). She does logo work as well as stationary/custom invites/announcements/paper prettiness! I can't thank her enough! I'm so happy with it!

Anyway I have lunch to make and diapers needing to be put on the line so I'm off for now!

Getting started!

I got so much done today! I'm so excited! I was feeling anxious about all I needed to do to open my shop. The hubby was off work today however so I handed the baby over and plopped down with my laptop and got to work. (Oh and it helped my mom gave me some $$$ because I'm an only child and I'm spoiled rotten).

I accomplished....

Linking my HC to my Facebook
Cute care tag labels ordered
Cute matching ribbon to match
Ordered 7 more colors of snaps
Ordered Zorb
Ordered OBF
Ordered a snap organizer for pick up at Sears tomorrow
Ordered 200 polymailers and 50 priority shipping envelopes.

Yaaaay! No sewing done but hey what can you do. Oh and tomorrow when I go to Sears, JoAnn's is across the street and I have a coupon! Yay again!

I still need tissue paper to wrap them in and hang tags for my wool items. Oh and to make an info sheet to mail out with them. AND to set up my HC and website. I think I'm going to get a big white poster board to take pictures on tomorrow, too.

But yes I feel very accomplished.

I'm so excited to get my store up and running! I just want to share the cloth love!
